TO WAKE UP

All tired, I went to bed.

Shut my eyes, eager to sleep,

Hoping for a slumber

Refreshing and deep.

I looked around curiously,

For I woke too quick,

And far I saw,

A forest fantastic and thick.

And nearby was a stream,

flowing with a burble,

diverging and converging,

as if the rocks were no trouble.

Turning around, I saw more,

Fields, wooden houses, trees.

“A village! Is this a fairy tale?”

I thought, admiring the peace.

Something told me to go closer,

I felt I knew who lives there,

The place was whispering to me,

But I could barely catch the words.

I wanted to go there,

See, listen, feel and understand,

What awaited me there,

In this familiar yet mysterious land.

Clank and beep,

“ Oh! my alarm.”.

But I slid back into the blanket,

Not to sleep but to wake up again in the place I dreamt.
