Recreating My OLD SKETCHES

In this blog, I have shared my sketches from an old diary. As a child, I just loved to draw, write, scribble and doodle random things in diaries. I find it as interesting to see them after years as much as I enjoyed making them. So, I have tried to recreate some of my old drawings, most of which were my imaginary friends from my little world of fantasy.

A girl with a basket, who almost makes me imagine the woods behind her (which I think, is a perfect setting for a fairy tale).

Another character from a familiar imaginary setting (perhaps one from my favourite cartoon).

This, I now think, is probably inspired from a Disney princess, beautiful but simple, just like Cinderella.

This was one of my silly dress design ideas, which made a big part of my diary then.

This was my idea of a venturesome girl, out seeking an adventure in a deserted island or forest.

This were the original sketches which I have tried to recreate. I don't know how interested anyone would be in the fanciful musings of a child. But if you ask me, it was one of the best things about being a child; you never had to bother about how practical, possible or real your ideas and dreams were, because as long as you imagined it, it was true for you. This reminds me of Pablo Picasso's quote:

" It took me four years to paint like Raphael,
but a lifetime to paint like a child. "
